This city on the Gulf Coast is part of the larger Tampa Bay metropolitan area, and is notable for its tourism, theme parks, sports teams, and cultural appeal. The City of Tampa is Hillsborough County's best known feature, as it is a popular place to live and visit. In fact, the entire county only has three cities: Tampa, Plant City, and Temple Terrace. Interestingly, much of the county is unincorporated in spite of its large population, and most communities are Census Designated Places. The County is nearly landlocked, and if it weren't for a small strip of land that extends to Tampa Bay, it would be.
